Ohio Statehouse Museum Transportation Grant Program
Sponsored by the Capitol Square Foundation

The Capitol Square Foundation has created a transportation grant program with generous gifts from the Honda of America Mfg., Inc. and Wal-Mart. The program is designed to help schools defray bus transportation expenses to the Ohio Statehouse Museum Education Center. The grants are based on one-way mileage from your school to Columbus.

Please thoroughly read the information below, and then complete the online application. Funds are limited, and all grants are approved on a first come-first served basis. Incomplete applications will not be considered. The grant funds are issued as reimbursements after your visit is completed.

WHO CAN APPLY?
Any Ohio school that receives state funding. However, grants are limited to Ohio students in the 4th through 12th grades during the 2009-2010 school year. Classes below the 4th grade are not eligible.
Only one grant will be awarded to each school regardless of the number of buses or students.

WHERE DO I APPLY?
Applications must be submitted online by an authorized teacher or school administrator.
Only online applications are accepted.

HOW MANY GRANTS are AVAILABLE?

Thank you SO very much. We are a district in Appalachia (Columbiana County) and are currently in Fiscal Emergency. Without this grant we would not be able to visit.

Dear Mr. Hayden, On behalf of the eighth grade students and attending staff of Napoleon Middle School, I would like to express our gratitude for the opportunity to travel to Columbus to visit our statehouse. Everything was first class and very educational. The spirit of goodwill and pride in the building was palpable.
Please let the Capital Square Foundation, Honda, and Walmart know that their generous travel grant made it possible for our eighth graders to take their first field trip in five years and afforded us the opportunity to not only visit our beautiful Capitol but also COSI.
Again, thank you.
Best Regards,
Jamie Bostelman

Thank You! We are very excited!
